Provides programs and opportunities, which encourage young people, particularly the disadvantaged, to maximize their potential and become caring productive citizens of our community. Activities include character and leadership development, health and life skills, education and career development, sports, fitness and recreation, and the arts. The Montgomery Biscuits are a Minor League baseball team that plays their games in downtown Montgomery at the nationally ranked Riverwalk Stadium.  The Biscuits are able to create custom, turn-key group outings for groups of 20 or more.  Each group receives special group benefits, including a group announcement over the PA and on the BiscuitsVision HD videoboard, a group raffle prize, and a custom photograph of your group at the game.  With special Grand Slam School Day games at 10:35 AM (April 16 and April 29) and Grand Slam School Night at 7:05 PM (April 19), the Biscuits can provide an educational field trip option that includes a State Dept. of Education approved Curriculum Packet.

Barracuda’s Competitive Swim Team

Carver Elementary School
Extended Day Program: 269-3625 or 269-3874. Enrollment is open to all children who live in Montgomery County in grades K-6. They offer piano, classical guitar, strings (violin, viola, cello and bass), visual art, drama, choral music, instrumental music and dance. Instruments are available for use through the school after proper paperwork is completed. Piano students must have an instrument upon which to practice. Registration is now going on. During these weekly classes, students will explore different art techniques, elements of art and principles of design, related to art in the Museum. They will use a variety of art materials to create drawings, paintings, ceramics, and sculpture, including oil and chalk pastels, colored pencils, acrylic, watercolor, and tempera paint, clay and mixed media sculpture. This series of weekly classes for upper elementary and junior high students offers more advanced art techniques and principles of design in connection with works of art and exhibitions in the Museum. Lessons will include a variety of art materials and techniques, such as drawing with pen and ink, colored pencils, oil and chalk pastels; painting with acrylics and watercolors; creating mixed media and collage works of art; sculpting with clay and mixed media.
